Jonathon Holder & Good Thinking’s debut release Harder Than Life has me feeling like Shaft every time I hit play on the contemporary classic hit. Jonathon Holder’s Jim Jones like reverence fuels this soulfully raw track.
Harder Than Life is more than just a feel-good anthem, it’s a song knee-deep in nostalgic revivalist swathes of rhythmic guitar fury and piano wizardry. If you’re a Ray Charles fan, I can guarantee you will adore Harder Than Life which was the bands third single released in December 2017.
I’m going to ask all my favourite UK acts for the following statement, but I had no idea that such a passionate exuberant sound could come out of the UK. The gigantic sound is an explosion of veracious harmony which is made all the sweeter by Holder’s vocals. Even more so when he’s joined by 3 other men and 4 women on the same mic.
