JO DIRTT – Hope: Rapped Poetry from a Hip Hop Deity

I don’t really need a few hundred words to accurately review JO DIRTT’s debut track Hope, all I really need is one. Damn.

You haven’t heard lyrical genius until you’ve hit play on Hope which is home to lyrics that rearrange your insides after gripping you with catchy lines such as ‘put my best foot forward but I’m still tripping’. Such strong imagery embedded in this track creates a delectable spoken word Hip Hop Rap track. I haven’t felt this taken by a rap artist since I stumbled across George The Poet. I had to listen to the track about 5 times before I could even let the beat produced by Abdel Petit to really sink in. The mid-tempo, highly polished haunting trap arrangement is the perfect resonant sound to pick up the pace when the fury of the lyrics flickers out. I’m absolutely stumped by JO DIRTT’S latest track Hope. You will be too.
