I G L O O – Had to be Said: Soberingly Poignant Alt Rock

https://youtu.be/kq5k9tvsfqA

Brighton has always been a breeding ground of discernible, distinguished talent in the UK.  I G L O O are yet another band to spawn from the city of eccentricity. Their latest single “Had to be Said” is a poignantly sobering work of Alt Rock. Even from the first notes of the guitar you get a sense your heart strings will contort in rhythm with the pensive notes.

When the ethereal vocals join the mix, it’s hard not to get reminiscent about bands such as Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine. Yet, there’s a slightly more Indie Post Punk edge to their sound through the intricate instrumental arrangements.

To encapsulate the dark imagery, the poised passion, and the teasing atmospherics of the sound in words is no easy feat. There are plenty of progressive elements to the tack, I G L O O use plenty of spatial effects to make sure the sentiment behind Had to be Said truly hits home.
