When you first hit play on a Hip Hop Rap track, you don’t expected to be greeted by a jangly guitar riff so I was pleasantly surprised to listen to Guarave’s latest single Revival unfold around the constant upbeat licks of the guitar which lingers in the background of the Trap style low-tempo beat.
If you’re a fan of Banks & Steelz, you will absolutely adore Guarave’s single whilst the production quality wasn’t quite on par with the Experimental Hip Hop icons, the style and sensibility most definitely was. Guarave’s lyrics constantly switch as the track progresses, whilst his Rap verses may have not been the strongest, it’s hard not to appreciate his more melodic vocal offerings which sit so succinctly above the pop of the guitar.
