There aren’t many artists with the ability to captivate me within the first thirty seconds of a track, yet, G H O S T S had me in awe of their anthemically gothic aurally alchemic approach to Alt Rock before the prelude had seamlessly slipped into the verse.
It should come as no surprise that an up and coming act taking influence from bands such as Bauhaus, Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction and Depeche Mode created a melancholically beguiling hit. The resonance carried in the soundwaves was beyond anything I’ve heard coming from the underground this year. The Birmingham UK-based pensive powerhouse of artists may just be the act to revive the gothic Industrial style which dominated the soundwaves in the 80’s and 90’s.
