It would seem that Amanda Palmer has some new competition when it comes to eccentrically endearing ukulele singles. Up and coming recording artist Francis has recently released their acoustic Indie ukulele-led debut single “No Doubt”, and it may just be one of the most enamouring soundscapes which I’ve heard in 2019. The ukulele may get a bad rep, yet, the high pitch of the instrument is perfect for creating a vibrantly quaint soundscape in No Doubt.
Any fans of Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, and Shawn Mendez will definitely want to put Francis on their radars. Even though romantically steeped acoustic Indie Pop tracks may be in no short supply from up and coming artists, the radio-ready production and the sincerity in the performance are enough to make No Doubt stand out with distinction.
