Up and coming Canadian Hip Hop artist DS Westwood made their debut on October 29th with their infectiously high-vibe single “Good Vibes Only” which features vocalist NK. Expect soul, sunny R&B Pop melodies, and plenty of lyrical ingenuity from the soundscape.
‘Good vibes only’ may be a prolifically used phrase and track title in 2019, but DS Westwood still manages to squeeze something fresh from the sentiment with the naturally euphoric track.
Instead of being force-fed aural happiness, the rhythm behind Good Vibes Only gently pulls you into the sticky-sweet tonality of the track right from the prelude to the outro, and you may just find that through the chorus you’ll feel a brand-new perennial earworm crawling in.
DS Westwood possesses that rare lyrical magnetic appeal which makes it impossible to tear away from the verses. Debut’s don’t come much more promising than this. It’s going to be exciting to see how DS Westwood follows on from Good Vibes Only.
