With their latest single, Dies Nox creates an understated, yet still intricately ingenious soundscape which is made even more emotive through the addition of vocals from female artist mess. While there is no shortage of melancholic music, the way in which the entire single resonated with apathy enabled Different Ways to draw you in through the distinction.
The contrast in the tonality between the light and gentle piano melodies alongside the darker more reverberant notes allowed you to sink into a deep sense of conflict.
Around the layers of Indie, a downtempo trap beat rings, with each soft smack of the drum pad an affirmation to how deeply you’ve immersed yourself in the single.
