Curse is the latest lucidly uplifting track from R&B & Soul singer songwriter & producer Day. At 20 years old, she harnesses a maturity in her music that creates such an ethereal edge which cuts through you as you listen to her progressive style unravel. The track builds up through an ambiently resonant start and gains momentum throughout. There isn’t a flaw to be found in Day’s latest single given its ability to grip you and draw you into the soulfully pensive lyricism until the beat builds up into a Neo Jazz Soul Trap style rhythm. The emerging Detroit based artist may be relatively new to the R&B scene, but given her ability to create such succinct contemporary Soulful music, I’d put my money on the fact that you’ll be hearing a lot more from Day.
