Soundscapes don’t see the meeting of Folk, Ambient, and Electro Pop all too often, which is what is so exciting about up and coming Folk Singer Songwriter Dafna’s latest single “If You’re a Dove”.
The American artist’s breathy, and earthy vocals seamlessly sit atop of the light yet progressive layers of synth and soft drum rolls which continuously gains momentum until the outro. If You’re a Dove may be a track that’s easy to slip into but forgetting the deftly produced individualistic energy of the simple, yet honeyed single is another matter entirely.
If you could imagine an amalgamation of the immersive sounds of War Paint and the Folk sensibilities of artists such as Frightened Rabbit, you may be able to get an idea of the unique brand of chemistry Dafna has cooked up with the first single to drop in 2019.
