If a track could be any more Americana, it would be off the map. Yet, Colossal Boss clearly aren’t a Rock n’ Roll act that do anything by half-measures, especially if their latest single “Thinkin’ and Drinkin’” which was released on November 6th is anything to go by. The Seattle-based powerhouse channel all of that sultry, grinding rhythm of the roots of the genre and lace it with a decadently raucous anthemic effect.
Despite the palpable salacity of Thinkin’ and Drinkin’, the lyrics contain raw, organic emotion which doesn’t fail to resonate around the soaring guitar riffs and tight instrumental arrangements. With the breakdowns as immersive as the infectiously composed chorus, there aren’t many Rock inclined audiophiles that would fail to be enamoured by their fresh approach to the genre.
