Whilst every adjective gets bounced around all too often describing music, it is by no amount of exaggeration that we are officially dubbing Candace Devine’s single “One More Night” as ethereal.
The power in the harmonics of Candace Devine’s overwhelmingly soulful vocal style are perceptible from the start, yet, it is in the chorus where the track is flooded with potently arrestive soul. Frankly, the fact that Candace Devine doesn’t share the same number of accolades as Christina Aguilera who she has worked with a backup singer is criminal.
One More Night is just one of the singles from her first solo release in over a decade. The 2019 EP “HERE WE ARE” is proof that Candace Devine was always meant to take a vocal lead. Jazz-laced power ballads can all too often resonate as slightly archaic, but with One More Night, Candace Devine’s vocals blow the cobwebs from the genre with a smooth contemporarily raw work of aural alchemy.
