In my humble opinion there will can never be enough guitar-driven Post Rock on the radio waves. Broken Girls from Affluent Backgrounds may have somewhat of a questionable name, but the music behind it is nothing short of phenomenal. The upbeat riffs of the guitar create for a bouncing harmony that doesn’t seem to falter even momentarily throughout the progressive slightly extended track. The vocals are poised and poignant to add the perfect evocative edge to the blissfully almost nostalgic sound. For anyone unimpressed with the new Arctic Monkeys album, I’d make Broken Girls from Affluent Backgrounds latest track Bridges your first port of call. Packed full of reverberated momentum which is lifted by the Alt Rock vocals to give you a pure sense of ethereal catharsis you can’t really go wrong with the track from the bands second EP ‘Fiction Will See Us Through’.
