Hip Hop Rap artist Blzn Dave has just released his 2018 album Glory and clearly tested every boundary of the genre, pushing his sound into brand new arenas which resonate through the aurally alchemic glistening beats that he’s orchestrated. Nothing could have prepared me for the euphorically zealous soundscapes of his single The Brethren. Instead of just laying down your atypical Hip Hop beat, Blzn Dave incorporated some of the most stunning guitar riffs around his already overwhelming sound. Perhaps more than anything else, I adored that The Brethren was an almost entirely instrumental composition there was no use for words when such a blindingly bewitching guitarist was laying down the licks on electric guitar, enthralled in the intricacy of the fret board. Blzn Dave is just another one of the reasons why Rock can’t compete with Hip Hop following in Kendrick Lamar’s footsteps.
