UK Hip Hop producer Blankface may class his style as Lo Fi, yet, there is nothing but concordance found within his tracks. His latest mix “The Big Dance” is a transcendentally mesmeric mix of Old School Hip Hop beats complete with intricate layers of orchestral swells and piano melodies around the slow and rhythmic downtempo beat. Yet around the soaring delicate notes is a reverberant hum which accompanies the kicks of the drum pads, and I’ll be honest, it’s a little bit sexy, but I’m sure that Blankface orchestrated the soundscape with that exact intention. Even in the absence of lyrics and vocals in this track, it still hits you with plenty of soul as it progresses through each uniquely alluring segment.
