Bassanio’s latest Hip Hop Rap track Smile won me over before the first verse had even ended. Whilst I’m infamously not a fan of romantic musical renditions, Smile had a way to make me do just that.
Whether it’s Bassanio’s instantly charming enigmatic sensibility or his ability to capture the sound of summer in a R&B infused Hip Hop track I’m not sure, yet I can guarantee with sounds this sweet he won’t be hanging around on the underground for long. The continuous mix up between vocal styles provides the track with infinite progression which is impossible to get bored with and inevitable you will get lost in. Bassanio mixed up the sound with his second single Smile from his first release ‘Single Ladies’, I can’t help but feel his style is more at home in a more rap verse-driven track rather than assimilating the same old over-produced R&B soul vocal style.
