Alpakka – The Weekend: A High Fire Attack of Prodigal Hip Hop

Alpakka is a relatively new contender to the New Wave Hip Hop arena, yet the Knoxville based up and coming artist’s music isn’t going short of critical acclaim and notoriety. And that should come as no surprise thanks to the mix up in Urban styles which fused together in the mix as the perfect melting pot of attitude.

So it’s safe to say the artist’s single ‘the Weekend’ is a high fire attack of prodigally inventive Hip Hop in which you can hear the aggression from the Old School, the tentative trickle of contemporary Trap and a slight hint of New Wave. The lyricism to the Weekend was fairly simple, yet the playful delivery from Alpakka was enough to make the track an infectious mix which you’ll want to go back to time and time again. Also, I’m a little enamoured by the fact that Alpakka teams up with his identical twin brother Pra$ad to produce the beats.
