It’s not often these days that you stumble across a track title inspired by Mary Queen of Scots. Yet, the infamous phrase saw the perfect reinvention under up the coming recording artist Adelina’s latest single Let Em Eat Cake. If you loved Childish Gambino’s latest single This is America, you’re going to adore Adelina’s attitude-soaked Hip Hop Tap track. Whilst it’s rare to hear a female artist tackle the Trap arena, it’s an even rarer occurrence to encounter an artist with a vocal prowess as domineering as Adelina. Her vocal style resonates with the sultry Trap beat perfectly, expect to hear plenty of resonance bleeding from the synth around the rattle and snare of the 808’s which have been mixed and mastered by the deftly talented producer Charlie Young. Yet, the lyrics some curtesy of Adelina who has proven with Let Em Eat Cake that she has mastered the ability to contort meter and rhyme to make a cathartically hard-hitting single.
