I’ll be honest, with an artist title of Acid Queen, I wasn’t exactly expecting male-fronted Psych Rock. But I can’t say I’m altogether disappointed in the revival soundscape.
Acid Queen’s standout single “Let’s Go For a Ride” will set up unadulterated visceral rhythms for any fans of the Doors, the Rolling Stones, and Hendrix to appreciate. The track plays plenty of odes to Psych Rock roots, which is perfect for traditionalists who are looking for an authentic soundscape, but for those looking for a contemporary, fresh, soundscape, they may be less easy to win over. Can’t win them all, right? Acid Queen promises raucous, loud, good old fashioned Rock n’ Roll and he certainly delivers.
