New Haven, CT Rapper Alan Walker pays tribute to his slain brother in ‘’Lost My Brother’’ ft Tyler Gifted

Losing a friend is a tough experience and something that may haunt you forever. Losing your own blood is on another level and ‘Alan Walker’ does a fine job in paying tribute in this touching song.

‘Alan Walker’ has been in the game for about a year now dropping numerous of songs on SoundCloud and a previous EP called “Truth Be Told” under the name “Duhkidd”. He changed his name a couple months ago because he wanted to rep his real name. A fair move and completely understandable.

‘’Lost My Brother’’ ft Tyler Gifted is a good track and one that should receive lots of love all over Connecticut and beyond.

Spotify is the best way to hear all of his music.

Ruby Layne – Haven: Darkly Arrestive Alt Pop

https://open.spotify.com/track/0M92RgvQgxWaolsweAhMxr

“Haven” is the standout track from up and coming Alt Pop artist Ruby Layne’s 2020 darkly arrestive self-titled EP. Pop doesn’t come much more atmospheric than this without making any compromise on the accessibility.

The moody and ominous tones will hook you in from the first verse. From there on out, you’ll be enveloped in a soundscape which finds the perfect balance between Alt Rock and Pop. Boasting the same dynamic vocal style as Evanescence’s Amy Lee along with a Post-Punk-laced moody atmospheric instrumental arrangement complete with pensive piano keys and angular guitars, Haven is a track which you’ll struggle to forget.

Ruby Layne may be fresh from her inception, but it’s already perceptibly clear that she has plenty to offer, and we’re all too excited to hear it.

Indie artist Haven has made their debut with the transfixingly hazy single “Somewhere Brighter”

Up and coming Indie artist Haven has demonstrated their powers of aural transfixion with their debut single “Somewhere Brighter”.

With the Jangle Pop guitar progressions, a Post-Punk tone creeping in through the basslines, and Haven’s instantly magnetic vocals, debut singles don’t come much more exciting than this.

Around the Pop sensibilities of the soundscape, there is also layers of soft Alt 90s Grunge sound combined with melodies which aren’t too dissimilar from bands as Blink 182. There may be a slightly Lo-Fi feel to Somewhere Brighter, but this only amplifies the emotivity in the seamlessly progressive single.

The single kicks off with soft vocals around hazy, sunny layers of reverb spilling from the guitars before building into a captivating feat of pioneering Indie which is all too tempting to play on repeat.

Haven – Take Me Away: Iridescently Hyped Pop

Haven’s single Take Me Away, is one of those rare tracks you listen to and it instantly hits you with familiarity, the accessible EDM Pop hit is set at the perfect tempo for you just to slip into. Every pitch sits at the perfect level to allow this iridescently hyped Pop track to resonate with you, as you get caught up with the beat and the viscerally powerful vocals at the same time – it makes for quite the aural experience.

Haven’s take on contemporary Pop music is pretty much as refreshing as it gets, there are no hints of fragility or nativity in her vocals, just pure, uplifting empowerment which bleeds through into the mic as the romantically inclined lyrics are versed. From the track progression you can expect deep, dubbed drops a plenty around the lush hooks which make this track so immediately amiable.

Haven – Escape: Pensively Euphoric Pop

Pop singer songwriter haven has just released her debut EP ‘Escape’, I wasn’t prepared for the connection that I would make with the sound. Haven’s contemporary blissful stylistic approach to her music won me over before the first verse was through. The title track from Haven’s EP has just set the bar for Pop artists everywhere. The sound is grounding yet at the same time uplifting, how she created that paradox in a track I’m not sure. But, I can guarantee you will feel every emotion which is pensively projected into the microphone from the emerging artist. After checking out Haven’s entire EP, it feels as though I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster. If more Pop artists were reminiscent of Haven, I have no doubt that the genre would gain infinitely more respect. There isn’t the slightest hint of plasticity to her ethereal sound.

You can check out Haven’s latest sensually soulful Pop hit Escape and the rest of her debut EP which was released on April 13th, 2018 on SoundCloud now or head on over to Haven’s website for more music & info.

If I don’t hear this track on the radio in the next few months I will have officially fallen out with mainstream music channels.

A debut to remember: Miss Garbo bring out long-awaited pop/rock single ‘Forgotten’

Miss Garbo is a UK based pop/rock duo that was formed by singer-songwriter Louise O’Hara and guitarist Andy Chapman who send us a true story of a love that has faded on ‘Forgotten’.

They have been performing together for just over 20 years thanks to an advert on Loot that Louise put up to find someone suitable to play music with. After meeting in Croydon, South London at Scream Studios, they clicked like a light switch and the rest as they say; is history and many live shows before 2020 have followed.

The vibrant start immediately gets you into the mood to go full 80’s with the old school guitar style that simmers through the door and into your living room. With vocals that remind you of the late great Marie Fredriksson, the energy here is tremendous and such an uplifting feeling for the tired heart.

Signed to 2C2C Music, the plan is to record a music video for this song when they can both be in the same room again. They both have a passion for making music together and no matter the circumstances, they will carry on doing what they love.

You have forgotten everything that happened as you have changed now and they haven’t. They are a distant memory now and you are now trying to work out if you are alone or if they are invisible to you. This happens when your heart isn’t in it anymore and the time to move on is here. You have been hurt too many times and are so tired of being with them, your mind has started to block them out.

UK duo Miss Garbo took their time to drop the debut ‘Forgotten’ but it was a worthwhile wait for their loyal fans and new admirers. A classic style washes over the scars of 2020 and this is a throwback to when music was pure and simple.

People change and so did you, as long as you do things with your heart, no one can really blame you. Being truly happy deep inside, is the only way to live.

Stream via Spotify, see the lyrics video on YouTube or see the duo on Facebook.

2020’s headache cure: Anna Luther is phenomenally pure on the mind-cleansing ‘Heavy’

22 year old Anna Luther is a soulful indie-pop artist and music coach who has an aura that is so real, her smile is sweet and genuine, plus she is an outrageously talented creative as heard vividly on her latest relevant single ‘Heavy‘.

Taking time to fully develop her own original style and adding in nostalgic synths, ambient sounds and speaking to our souls deep inside; this is a singer-songwriter/producer that takes much care with each second of her music delivery.

This is a sonic soundscape that I haven’t ever heard before and my pesky headache cleared during this wonderful creation. A few tears slipped down my cheeks as I listened closely, my tired mind felt like it was transported to safe place by an illuminating angel.

Things have been so heavy this year and life can feel like you are carrying a rucksack of cement bricks all the time. This is a deep soul who thinks like vary rare people do and puts a lot of pressure on herself to succeed. Her mind is a whirlwind of thoughts and ideas, as she searches for that happy place on a road that is full of detours and punctures that either make you stronger, or knock you down for good. She faces a challenge that so many of us battle with, as asking for help can be tough as you have been let down before. The feeling here is that she is manifesting her thoughts to make this a reality and this is the power of real music. It can heal all wounds, no matter how deep and traumatic.

Her vocals are so spectacular and beautiful, there is a peaceful ambiance everywhere and her music is always evolving. ‘Heavy’ from the incredible soul Anna Luther, is a mind-bending experience that will take you places you didn’t know existed.

The journey to a fresh start: Los Angeles singer-songwriter Huney gets out of negative energy forces on ‘Another Day’ (ft. NiSPLASH)

LA musician Huney is on a music and film-making mission in 2020 and she returns with her latest indie-electronic track with Hip Hop flavor called ‘Another Day’.

After learning to play the piano when she was just 9 years old, Huney has since turned her attention to her visual arts training and making meaningful videos. This is a self-motivated creative who has used this horrible pandemic to learn new skills and build her name up as much as possible. When it gets tough, the tough get going.

With an EP on the way in 2021, she has a long-term plan and is building step by step to make sure that her vision is portrayed in the best possible light without any shortcuts.

You feel the opening intro deeply as we are teased with a haunting piano start that draws you in quickly. The tiptoe in the door is such a salivating beginning and you wonder what is next. Her vocals make your back shiver and his raps mesh the two together like ice in water, keeping the vibe cool but chilly real. You feel the energy and remember those times when you just wanted to get out of a place and never return.

This is all about wanting to start the day again as you haven’t had a fun night out and just want to be back at home, safe and away from this negative energy. You are trusting your gut and if you could teleport home now you would.

Another Day’ (ft. NiSPLASH) from the the incredible LA singer-songwriter Huney is an excellent indie-electro journey that gives you the feeling that these are two artists that truly get it. Being somewhere that is unnatural is bad for the soul and the sooner you get away, the better. Being with your tribe is the only way forward.

Support these classy artists on Spotify and see Huney’s vision via her IG.
