Matt’s Keys borrowed from Fleet Foxes in his trip around the human condition, I Won’t Forget

Whether we like to admit it or not, one of our most pervasive fears is being forgotten and our impact on people’s worlds being ephemeral, if you can relate, you will resonate with the latest star-roving pop hit from Matt’s Keys.

With a featuring vocal artist adding her beguiling harmonies over the pop rock keyboardist’s perpetually poignant keyboard melodies, I Won’t Forget is an uninhibitedly sweet score, orchestrated to lead your emotions to extremes as the lyrics gravitate around the highs and lows of the human condition. From our hopes and fears to our naïve dreams and bitter-sweet regrets, it is all encompassed in the stunning single which reminisces with the sonic style of Fleet Foxes, while delivering panoramically filmic gravitas. It is tracks like I Won’t Forget that prove how interconnected we all are by the commonality in our experiences, despite the rise in individualism. If that isn’t the definition of aural gold, it damn well should be.

I Won’t Forget was officially released on August 31; stream it on SoundCloud.

A&R Factory Present: Adam Melchor

Adam Melchor is a 24 year old recording artist from New Jersey. In his debut EP The Archer, Adam weaves intensely personal lyrics with colloquial melody to create a vivid yet vulnerable narrative. Carried by his folk guitar playing and impressive vocals, the songs showcase a musical empathy rare for an artist of Adam‘s age and comparable to contemporaries like M. Ward or Conor Oberst.

The lead single from the forthcoming album is “Brook Revisited”, a stark, emotive song born out of a reacquaintance with a childhood friend through tragic circumstances. It is, in part, a personal tribute to a companion who died of a drug overdose. With “Brook Revisited”, in all its emotional complexity, Adam has created a cathartic and auspicious debut single.

1st single “Brook Revisited” out Feb 24. 2nd single “The Archer” is out March 17. Full EP is out March 31.

A&R Factory Present: Ross Nicol

Hailing from San Diego, multi-talented musician Ross Nicol has been actively at work in Nashville this past year. A classically-trained guitarist who began writing music at 14, Nicol has created a musical style that solidifies his place in the alternative spectrum.

Inspired by the creative story-telling and musical arrangements of Radiohead and Vampire Weekend, while drawing influence from David Bowie and The Beatles, Nicol fuses the analog sounds of the past with a modern, alternative twist. Under the guidance and label imprint of producer Jason Hill (Louis XIV, The Killers), Nicol has two huge releases planned for the year: an EP due for the end of May and a full-length album set for later this summer.

He is in good company, working with the creative minds behind Alabama Shakes, MGMT and Of Montreal, so we are confident this will be a successful summer for the new artist.
